In Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence

This Introductory Senchakai is offered in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence.
The gathering introduces the culture of Senchado — the Art of Sencha (Japanese tea) as it developed in Japan during the late eighteenth century, around the same time as American independence.

During the Senchakai, guests will observe a demonstration of Senchado and learn about the cultural background of sencha practice in the eighteenth century.

Cold-brewed sencha will be served in keeping with the early summer season.
