Practice Senchakai
Applied Learning Through a Full Tea Gathering

Duration: 120 min | Capacity: up to 5 | Fee: available for enrolled students (details provided privately)

Lesson duration varies depending on class size.

Students rotate through the essential roles:

  • Myoshu (茗主): the host who performs the temae

  • Doji (童子): the assistant supporting the host

  • Guests: participants who observe, appreciate, and respond with proper etiquette

By practicing each role, students learn how a Senchakai functions as a complete whole and develop a well-rounded understanding of its structure, atmosphere, and etiquette.

Repeated participation helps refine one's temae, cultivate awareness of timing and movement, and build the confidence required to present a formal Senchakai.

The Practice Senchakai is offered exclusively for students who are engaged in continuing study at Eri's Senchado School.

It provides an opportunity to experience the entire flow of a Senchakai—from beginning to end—within a supportive learning environment.

Scheduling

Practice Senchakai sessions are held only for continuing students.

Dates are arranged based on each student's progress and are scheduled in consultation with the instructor.

This class serves as a bridge between regular Keiko and formal presentation, and plays an important role in preparing for future certification (Menjo).
