This welcoming introductory session invites you to see and feel the world of Senchado — the Art of Japanese Sencha, practiced in the Ogasawara-ryu tradition.
Before beginning your study, it is important to understand the quiet beauty, etiquette, and refined hospitality that form the foundation of this cultural art.

  • Basic manners and how to enjoy Nihoncha in the tearoom

Lesson Flow

You will observe a Senchado demonstration conducted by the instructor.
Through the flow of preparation, presentation, and serving, you will experience the atmosphere of Japanese hospitality and the aesthetic values characteristic of Ogasawara-ryu Senchado.

  • This class is required before joining regular lessons.

  • It may be taken once per person.

  • If you have already attended a formal Senchakai hosted by Eri's Senchado School, you may skip this class.
